In addition to in-home personal training, clients also have the option to work with Ben at the YWCA in Lewiston, or at Optimal Self in Portland.
I have been a personal trainer for the past 14 years, and spent my entire career working in the fitness and recreation industry. I enjoy working with people from across the fitness spectrum, from those new to exercise to college athletes. I have a master’s degree in exercise science from Oregon State University, and am certified as a personal trainer through ACTION. I am also a Cancer Exercise Specialist, certified through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute. I spent the majority of my professional life in the college fitness and recreation industry. I developed the personal training program at Brandeis University, where I oversaw the fitness programs and facilities. Prior to Brandeis, I was personal training full-time with Bodyscapes, a Massachusetts based franchise consistently ranked as Boston’s best personal training studios. More recently, I was the Health & Wellness Director at the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, where I was responsible for all aspects of their community based fitness and wellness programs and facilities. A former athlete, competing in alpine and cross-country skiing, football, track, and volleyball, I now enjoy triathlon and road racing as my primary competitive fitness outlets. I live in Auburn with my wife and two children.
